Your First Dental Visit
Some patients tell us that their first visit with us was a little bit different—pleasantly so! We work hard to make your first visit as comprehensive and careful as possible. As part of the visit, you will meet with both your hygienist and Dr. Booker. The hygienist will begin gathering information including x-rays, photos of your teeth, and provide a comprehensive assessment to screen for gum disease. Dr. Booker’s exam includes a review of your dental and medical history, oral cancer screening, and a tooth-by-tooth evaluation of your mouth.
Following this exam, Dr. Booker and your hygienist will discuss their findings with you and develop a treatment plan you are comfortable with.
But your first visit is just the beginning. We pride ourselves in the thoroughness of every examination and the steps we take to ensure your optimum dental health. You will always be informed of the condition of your mouth and receive honest recommendations and treatment options.

Because we want your dentistry experience to be effective, restorative and energizing for your whole family, we go out of our way to make you feel a little pampered while in our office. It is relaxation dentistry at its best.
We start every dental visit with a little VIP treatment to help you relax. Step into our reception room and help yourself to a bottle of spring water, or ask us for a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Our patients often like to come a little early to savor a quiet moment.
Does music soothe you when you’re stressed? Many of our guests believe it does. That’s why we offer a wide variety of music for your listening pleasure.
Sometimes, our guests find our office climate is a little chilly or their head and neck need a little more support in our chairs. To put you at ease, we offer our patients warm blankets and neck pillows for comfort. For an extra special treat, let us treat you to an indulgent paraffin hand dip. When your appointment ends, refresh yourself with a hot towel and some lip balm so you can leave our office feeling great. Don’t you deserve pampering relaxation dentistry? We think you do!

What type of whitening system does your office offer?
We offer two different types of whitening systems, Sapphire with Lumibrite and Zoom! whitening. Both are highly recommended and take about 1.5 hours to complete the process. Our patients have had very good results with both systems which are fast and very safe.
What is the difference between veneers and Lumineers?
A veneer is a thin shell made out of porcelain or composite material. They are custom-made and cemented to the front of the tooth. A veneer can be used to treat dental conditions such as a slightly crooked tooth, discolored teeth or chipped teeth, and can even be used to cover spaces in between the teeth.
A Lumineer is a type of veneer. They are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded into place. Lumineers are marketed by Den-Mat as “no prep” veneers, meaning that less natural tooth structure has to be removed. Lumineers are a great option for some patients.
Does your office offer dental sedation?
Although we currently do not offer dental sedation, we do keep your comfort our first priority. Our office uses local, numbing injections to keep your pain to a minimum. We also offer nitrous oxide to help soothe your dental anxiety.
Does your office do dental implants?
Our office does not place implants but we can refer you to our preferred local oral surgeons or periodontists to have this surgical procedure performed. A dental implant is a type of prosthetic device that is inserted into the upper or lower jawbone, onto which an artificial tooth, crown or bridge can be anchored.
After the implant is placed, we will take care of restoring your smile with natural looking replacement teeth, crown, or dental bridge.
What is the process for restoring a tooth with a crown?
A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely encircles a tooth or dental implant and is typically bonded to the tooth using dental cement. Crowns can be made from many materials.
Our office now offers one visit crowns using the advanced technology of CEREC. This computer aided crown milling technology allows Dr. Booker to prep the tooth, take an impression, make the crown in our office and place the crown all in the same day. In total the procedure takes about 2 ½ to 3 hours, allowing you to back to your life with no second visit.
