Why Aren’t You Smiling?

Owensboro Dentistry

It’s unfortunate, but true: a lot of people don’t smile because they are embarrassed by the state of their teeth. At Thompson & Frey Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Owensboro, cosmetic dentistry can improve just about any aspect of your smile!

When we think of smiles, the first thing we think of are the teeth, of course. But we take more than just the teeth into consideration when we design a patient’s smile: skin tone, hair color, the lips, gum tissue – all the things that make up your facial appearance. And of course, that includes the teeth themselves.

We’ll ask you some very specific questions: what is it about your smile that you don’t like, and want to imrpove? A well-shaped smile consists of bright white teeth, set against the appearance of your face.

Here are some of the considerations:

  • Alignment and spacing of teeth. Your teeth may be slightly crooked, or overlapping; there may be gaps between some of them. We can align teeth with clear braces, and improve their appearance with porcelain veneers.
  • Discolored teeth. Teeth grow dull over the years, and get stained from all manner of food and drink. Professional teeth whitening can restore the whiteness to your smile.
  • Missing teeth. A missing tooth is very unsightly. Dental implants can replace a missing tooth and restore your smile! An implant is a titanium post inserted into the jaw, with an artificial tooth mounted on top. They look and function like the real thing.

At Thompson & Frey Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Owensboro, our overall goal is using cosmetic dentistry to bring your smile into harmony and balance with the rest of your face. People from Henderson, Tell City IN, and Hartford also come to our practice for adult orthodontics, and much more! Please give us a call to schedule an appointment today!
