Keeping You Comfortable

sleep dentistry Owensboro

If you’re among the millions of people who gets uneasy just thinking about your next appointment at the dentist’s, you may benefit from sedation dentistry at Thompson & Frey Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Owensboro.

There are lots of reasons why people get nervous at the thought of seeing the dentist. It may be the lasting effect of a bad experience they had with a checkup during childhood. It may be an expectation and fear of anesthetics and potential side effects. Or it could be a concerns about pain.

For some people the concerns are so intense, they postpone dental checkups, or skip them outright. While this may resolve the problem in the short term, the long term consequences on their dental health can be severe.

If any of this sounds familiar, sedation dentistry could be the solution. It may sound extreme, but your dental health is not something to be taken for granted.

In our practice, we have two types of sedation:

  • Nitrous Oxide. Nitrous oxide has been used in dentistry for more than a century and is highly effective. Commonly known as laughing gas, it induces a great calm.
  • Oral conscious sedation. This involves taking a prescribed sedative an hour or so before your appointment. You won’t sleep, but will be in a deeply relaxed state. You are required to have someone drive you to and from our office.

At Thompson & Frey Cosmetic and Family Dentistry in Owensboro we want our patients to be comfortable during their procedures. Sedation dentistry has helped many people get the treatment they deserve. People from Philpot, Tell City IN, and Hartford also come to our office for complete family dentistry. Schedule your next checkup with us today!
